Inmate Re-Entry

Meet James, who served 24-years in Florida prisons for crimes committed as a hardened repeat offender. While in prison, James strove to make his life better by filling his years of incarceration with the Word of God, exercise, and art. He left prison wearing a set of donated clothes and didn’t look back. Within two days of being released, he landed his first job working at a local university as a cook.

James was recognized in Inmate Encounter’s 2020 Ministry Plan as a model transition and is on his way to earning a good living through his artwork. He currently holds a full-time job and serves as a weekend manager within the transition facility where he lives. He gives generously of his time and finances in helping transition other inmates back to being good neighbors.
